Community Foundation of Acadiana

Location: Lafayette, Louisiana
Size: 6,750 sf

Since 2000, Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA) established itself as one of South Louisiana’s Premier Philanthropic Organizations. The geographical outreach pours out into the greater portion of Acadiana: Acadia, Evangeline, Iberia, St. Landry, St. Mary, St. Martin, and Vermilion Parishes. The CFA’s purpose is building legacies and improving communities by connecting generous people to the causes they are passionate about.

The new Community Foundation of Acadiana’s building is designed to provide a prominent place for donors to establish a relationship with CFA and build a lasting legacy. Design-wise, the project required a structure that is a tangible expression of the values of the organization. Abstract ideas such as stability, transparency, permanence, creativity and availability are the basis of design for the building. Massive forms that anchor the building are used to express permanence and stability in the community. While all glass entry systems and raised ceilings throughout the space provide impressions of openness and availability to the donors.
